David was a financial adviser for 37 years, initially as a tied adviser and later as a non-aligned adviser, so he understands both business models. He has experience in advising on risk (both personal and business), investments, mortgages, fire & general, and financial planning. He qualified for membership of MDRT ten times, thereby becoming a life member of MDRT. He has a Bachelor of Business Studies degree, majoring in Marketing, and is a Chartered Life Underwriter.

David has four years experience as a successful coach/mentor for a nationwide adviser group. He is a member of the PAA and of the IFA. He is a Past President of the NZ AMP Agents Association, and of the Insurance and Investment Advisers Association which was a predecessor of the IFA.

​In 2016 David became a qualified educator by completing the New Zealand Certificate in Adult Education and Training Level 4.

David has published a book entitled "Living, Laughing and Loving" which is intended to inspire and motivate readers to be the best they can be







Marg was an insurance broker for 12 years, working with David in their business Pine Financial Group. She too knows what it takes to run a successful adviser business.

Pine Financial Group specialised in helping self-employed business owners with all of their insurances, both life and fire & general. Accordingly, like David, Marg has a wealth of knowledge in the SME (small to medium enterprise) space.
